How Veritas Events and Canopy Creative Used AR to Wow 400+ Guests at A25
The Challenge - An AR Event Activation Like No Other
Veritas Events is an Australian full-service event management agency. They specialise in high-end galas, symposiums, and corporate experiences. Recently, they prepared for A25, an international medical aesthetics event.
A highlight of this event is the reveal of the next conference date. This moment is highly anticipated among delegates. This time, Veritas Events saw an opportunity to elevate the experience. They aimed to surprise and delight the audience by harnessing emerging technology.
“We do a date reveal every year. It’s a standard practice for the event. But this time, we wanted something different – something unexpected.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
That vision led to the idea of using augmented reality and finding the perfect partner to bring it to life.

The Search for a Creative AR Partner
To realise this concept, Amy began researching suppliers. She discovered Canopy Creative.
“I was initially attracted to Canopy over all the other AR companies I saw online. It was so events-focused – full of incredible activations. It was clear from the outset that you understood live experiences. That’s why I reached out.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
With visual references ready, Amy sought a partner who could collaborate closely. She wanted someone who could refine the concept and deliver with precision.
The Solution – A Blooming Moment
After a creative discovery session, our team proposed a web-based AR activation featuring a custom 3D animated flower. This flower would bloom and reveal the 2026 conference date.
Here’s what made it powerful:
No app required – just scan a QR code
Beautiful, elegant animation in the event’s brand colours
Real-time interaction across hundreds of devices
Screen-recorded version for display on the main event screen
Bringing the Idea to Life
From concept sign-off to launch, the collaboration between Veritas Events and Canopy Creative was fast and focused. Every design detail was refined in real-time. This included colours, fonts, and animation timing. The goal was to ensure the activation perfectly aligned with the creative vision.
“Every time I emailed, the response was quick. Fonts, colours, slowing the flower animation – every adjustment I asked for was met with a yes.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
The Moment It Went Live
A25 welcomed over 400 attendees. Each guest received a printed card with a custom QR code. This code was also displayed on the big screen at the reveal moment.
“When the QR code went up and the flower started blooming, you could literally hear oohs ripple across the room.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
With 349 scans in just moments, the activation was an instant success. Thanks to the screen-recorded version, the experience played for the entire room. Even those without their phones ready could enjoy it.
“It’s such a good feeling when a complex piece of tech just works. From side of stage, I remember thinking – ‘this is exactly what I asked for.’ Everyone was happy. Everyone loved it.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
Feedback from the Veritas Team
The AR activation not only captivated attendees, but it also left a lasting impression within Veritas Events.
“It exceeded expectations in every sense. The responsiveness, adaptability, and level of detail were spot on. I’ve worked with a lot of suppliers, and this was one of the best experiences I’ve had.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
Final Thoughts By Veritas
When asked what advice she’d give to others considering immersive tech for their events, Amy’s answer was simple:
“Embracing new technology isn’t daunting if you’re working with a partner who understands your vision. Be clear with your creative direction, provide visual references, and you’ll get exactly what you imagined.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
“With Canopy, they did just that. And it was fantastic.” — Amy Cripps, Production Coordinator, Veritas Events
